How to Enroll:

Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library is dedicated to inspiring a love of reading by gifting free, high-quality books each month to children from birth to age five. The books are customized with the child’s name and sent directly to their home. Books arrive 7-10 weeks after enrollment and then arrive monthly until the child’s 5th birthday.

Parents or guardians can enroll in the program by completing this enrollment form. Please use your mailing address (post office boxes are permitted) to ensure the books can reach you.

  • When planning a move, please contact your local Imagination Library affiliate and provide them with your new address.  If you have a parent portal, you can log in and update your address at imaginationlibrary.com. 

    If you are moving out of Montana, you will need to see if the program is available in your new neighborhood. Check availability here. 

    If you have confirmed the address on file with Imagination Library is the correct address but are still not receiving books, we recommend submitting a change of address form. This will ensure all names in the household are on file with the United States Postal Services (USPS).

    I’ve just stopped receiving books, what should I do?

    If your child stopped receiving books, please contact your local Imagination Library affiliate.

  • If you provide an email address with your registration, you will be notified via email when the registration is approved or entered into our system.  If you do not have an email address, you will need to contact your local Imagination Library affiliate to find out more information, but it does take 8-12 weeks for books to start arriving after approval. 

  • Congratulations! You can sign up for your baby as soon as they are born.

  • We make sure children receive an appropriate book by allocating them to an age group based on their year of birth. For example, children born in 2025 will receive board books with minimal text focusing on nurture and attachment, whereas a child born in 2020 will receive a softcover picture book, covering more complex concepts.  A child enrolled from birth to their fifth birthday will build their own home library of up to 60 books.

  • If you registered your child online or an email address was added to your child's record upon registration, this will serve as your username. If you do not know the password, please request a new password using the New Password/Forgot Password link on the login page. If your link has expired or is invalid, you can request a new link at any time by visiting www.imaginationlibrary.com.

    If there is no email address on your child's account, you will need to contact the local Imagination Library affiliate in your area. 

Enrollment FAQs

  • Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library mails out books to almost 3 million children a month. We must place our book orders a month in advance to do this. Depending on when you register your child, it may take up to eight to twelve weeks for the first book to arrive. After that, the books will come every month.
